Cranham Scout Centre is ideally placed to be used for practice and full bronze and silver Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.
The centre is equipped with a range of camping spaces that are suitable for small teams to much larger groups. Each campsite offers access to water standpipes and toilet and shower facilities are close by.
Support vehicles can be parked in our car park, and we have indoor accommodation available for supervisors and assessors at a reasonable rate.
We also have a marquee and small meeting room that can be used for training purposes.
The centre is surrounded by a network of public footpaths that allow walkers and cyclists to explore the unique environment that the Cotswolds have to offer. Within easy distance, participants can access woodland, hills, arable and livestock farming, studs and the urban environment. This offers a vast range of opportunities for projects while completing the expedition.
Within a reasonable distance there are a number of other campsites that are ideally situated for the Silver expedition. These are:
Deer Park, Cowley (GR: 967 144) Website
Eastcombe Scout and Guide Hut (GR:895 042) Website
The Stanleys Scout HQ (GR: 805 038) Website
Shurdington Scout HQ (GR: 922 187) Website
If you know of any other good local sites, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will add them here.
