How to get here:
By Road
SatNav users – The postcode is GL4 8HP. This covers a large proportion of the village and will not bring you to the door. Please look out for signs and follow the directions below when you get close.
From the M5
Leave the M5 at Junction 11a, and follow the A417 towards Cirencester.
Leave the A417 at the next junction (sign posted Brockworth and Shurdington) and take the third exit at the roundabout along the A46 towards Stroud.
Follow the A46 for 3.2 miles until you see a sign for Cranham. Turn left, and after 50 yards turn right (sign posted Scout HQ).
Follow this road to the bottom of the hill. Cranham Scout Centre is on the left hand side.
From the M4
Leave the M4 at Junction 15, and take the third exit at the roundabout along the A419 towards Cirencester.
Continue along this road (changes to the A417 and 14.5 miles) until it changes from dual carriageway to single carriageway.
Take the second exit and continue along the A417 for 1.5 miles and turn left along the B4070 (sign posted Birdlip)
Follow through Birdlip. After the pub on the right, turn left along the B4070.
After about a mile turn right (sign posted Scout Centre) and follow a winding road through beech woodland. After 2.4 miles, turn left. Follow this road to the bottom of the hill. Cranham Scout Centre is on the left hand side.
Please note – the roads close to Cranham are very narrow and extra care needs to be taken.
Public Transport
Train – The closest train stations are at Gloucester (5 miles), Cheltenham (6 miles) and Stroud (7 miles)
Bus – There is a regular hourly bus service that stops on the A46 at Cranham Corner. The site is about 1.5 miles walk from here. There is also a bus service to the village but this only runs on a Thursday between Cranham and Cheltenham.
Air – The closest airports are Birmingham and Bristol.
